Crowns are an excellent way to repair and strengthen badly damaged teeth. They also can dramatically improve the appearance of teeth. Porcelain crowns in particular are extremely aesthetic and can improve alignment, color, shape and bite issues. Unlike veneers, crowns cover the entire tooth, helping to prevent weak teeth from cracking or breaking. By strengthening weak teeth, they can reduce or eliminate pain, sensitivity, and difficulty chewing. When structural integrity is an issue, crowns should always be considered for both health and cosmetic reasons.

Dental Implants often provide a more advanced replacement technology for a missing tooth that a traditional bridge. Dental Implants eliminate the need for grinding down healthy teeth. Implants are small metal screws designed specifically to replace you natural tooth root. Once placed in the jawbone, new bone will grow and attach to the implant. Once healing is complete, a crown will be fabricated resulting in a beautiful, natural looking translucent tooth.

Bonding with composite is one of the most conservative, versatile and affordable ways to aesthetically restore teeth. Dr. Chan has extensive experience in cosmetic bonding and can transform the most broken down teeth into works of art. The tooth colored, natural looking material can be used to restore front and back teeth, replace unattractive silver fillings, repair root abrasions, close gaps between teeth, realign teeth, change tooth color and restore broken and fractured teeth.

Porcelain Veneers
Veneers are a thin customized porcelain shell that is bonded directly to the tooth’s surface with the goal of obtaining a healthy beautiful smile. The veneers can correct stained, misaligned, chipped, gapped or crooked teeth. As an excellent alternative to crowns, porcelain veneers require minimal to no tooth reduction. This conservative procedure will give a strong, durable and stain resistant result that will last for years. Veneers are one of the best and popular cosmetic procedures available today.

Lumineers are contact lens-thin porcelain veneers that provide optimal strength and beauty. Lumineers require little or no tooth reduction, which means the procedure, can normally be done with no drilling. When preserving natural tooth structure is a priority, Lumineers should be considered as a first choice for a beautiful, healthy smile.

Tooth-Colored Fillings
Tooth-colored or composite fillings have always presented a more aesthetic alternative to traditional silver fillings. However, due evolving technology, they are now strong and durable enough to rival their metallic counterparts. Composite fillings micro- mechanically bond to tooth structure so excessive removal of tooth is avoided. Healthy tooth structure is preserved and left intact due to the retentive bond formed by composite, which is an important benefit to this material.

Dentures are replacement teeth that help fill out your smile by giving support to the cheeks and lips. Replacement teeth create a more youthful, vibrant appearance by adding to facial support, aiding in speaking, chewing, and smiling.

Gum Disease
Gum disease is swelling or soreness of the gums around the teeth. It is caused by the bacteria in plaque, which is a sticky colorless film that forms on your teeth. The plaque bacteria have toxins that inflame the gums. If plaque is left on the teeth too long, supporting structures like gum tissue, bone and fibers can become damaged leading to tooth loss. Early detection and treatment is important to help maintain health and avoid the loss of all supporting tissues.

When the risks of retaining teeth out weigh the benefit, an extraction may be recommended to improve the oral condition. Dr. Chan has extensive experience in extracting teeth and will provide patients with the most comfortable and personalized care.
